Max started dancing at the age of 6, where he began competing at the age of 8. He started on the medalist circuit learning the ISTD figure syllabus and completing all his medal test exams to award level. He competed nationally at medallist competitions where he placed in most finals and also winning The Grand Nationals 2013 in Blackpool.

After completing all his ISTD medal exams, he moved onto the Open Championship circuit in 2015, to compete in Junior. He was placed in most national finals and was also a finalist at Champions Of Tomorrow 2016. He reached top 15 Junior in England by the end of 2016. His junior career in the open circuit was quite short as he had to move up into the adult category in 2017. He began teaching in 2017.

Max is still competing nationally on the Open circuit in Youth, placing in top 10 in England. His aims are to keep improving his technique and knowledge to reach the top and to pass his knowledge and passion to his students at Gotta Dance Derby.
